Warner Bros first released the trailer for their upcoming gangster movie ‘The Gangster Squad’ a few months back and had it slated for a January release, but there was a scene in the trailer of movie goers being shot at. Soon after the trailer hit the web the tragedy in Columbus where a gunman opened fire on theatre goers watching the new Batman movie happened so Warner Bros pulled the trailer. They’ve also pushed back the release date to next September. Thankfully though last night they released a new trailer for the film and I think it’s better than the first.
Ryan Gosling’s gangster voice isn’t so irritating in this one, and who cares if it is really because did you see how he kisses Emma Stone?! So hot! This trailer also gives us a bit more of a look into the story, about how Sean Penn’s Mickey Cohen’s organized crime starts to take over LA and Nick Nolte will have none of it. So he gets the very handsome Josh Brolin to put together his own Gangster Squad to take him down. I like that in this trailer we see more of the squad including Anthony Mackie and Michael Pena too. This will definitely be a must see for me next September.
