I’ve watched Gossip Girl since the very beginning, not to mention the fact that I’ve also read all the books ( oh yes I have) so when I saw that the trailer for the final season was online I was so excited to watch it, unfortunately that excitement quickly fizzled. Last season was so boring between the Blair/Louis marriage, the constant Serena Van Der Woodsen mumbling, Dan’s terrible hair and the whole unfortunate ‘Dair‘ situation not to mention the entire Charlie/Ivy/Lola storyline, leaving me to think that seeing Serena on a train with a vial of coke in her hands in the season finale might actually lead to some good Upper East Side scandal this season.
Looks like I was wrong. Even in these pictures of Blake Lively filming on set with Penn Badgley (who thank God cut his hair) the actors look bored. And Serena looks a far cry from being the coked out vindictive Serena Van Der Woodsen we all know and love. BORING. The only thing this trailer has going for it is that it looks like we’ll finally get to see Chuck and Blair together. Except I don’t want to see them all in love and happy and ‘me and you against the world‘ or at the very least ‘me and you against Bart Bass‘ together. That’s as lame as Rufus’s cardigans. I need my Chuck and Blair to be all hot and argumentative and passionate. Something I’m not sure we’re going to see this season.
The new episodes begin on October 8 on The CW and I will be tuning in, but if this is the best they’ve got I might not stick around, even if it is the last season.
