As always your True Blood recap is brought to you by Rebecca from A Bit Of Momsense. Make sure you check out the trailer for next week’s episode after the wrap up too!
Tara is awake, a vampire and is angry. She’s throwing Sookie around (while Pam laughs of course) and even gets a bite into her.
But Pam has to get to work so she forbids Tara (as her maker) from biting Lafayette and Sookie. I still wouldn’t be feeling great about this.
Eric, Nora (still not sure how I’m feeling about her) and Bill are taken to The Authority’s headquarters which includes prisoner cells. Silver lined and UV lights ready for mini bursts of torture. Things are looking great for our new fab duo. Salome, who seems to be someone of great importance in The Authority is not pleased with Nora’s betrayal.
Alcide doesn’t want the role of pack leader, and he certainly doesn’t want any part of eating Marcus’ dead wolf body. Alcide is wearing a lot of clothing. That’s all I have to say.
Terry is having visions and Arlene is rightfully freaked out. ‘What the Hell Terry’ indeed!!
Tara is speed freaking out at Sookie’s house. That poor house is never not destroyed I think. So they are trying to figure out what to do with Tara so they try to feed her Tru Blood. She’s not having any of that and attacks Lafayette. But it seems some of the ‘old’ Tara may be in there and obeying her maker’s orders, she doesn’t bite and runs upstairs.
Pam and her 1905 flashback to when she was a madam in a brothel is frankly maybe the best direction/storyline in a while. We know very little about Pam’s back story, her turning by Eric and her human life so this is really exciting. Even her run-in with a very-attractive-in-a-top-hat Eric was perfection. I’m looking forward to more of this.
Sam and Luna have a fight after Marcus’ mom shows up reminding Luna that she’s still her daughter’s grandma. Luna wants none of it, and doesn’t want to believe Emma may be a wolf. I’m still not sure what the fight was about. Sam was just being nice, not a jerk. Although, a lot has happened to Luna and she’s protecting her own so I can get that.
Jason and Sheriff Bellefleur find Debbie Pelts car. OH NO!! They’ll be looking for her and soon her killer soon (Sookie, watch out!).
While Sookie is stalking up on anti-vampire gear (she chooses a spray. Protecting herself from Russell Edginton?), we see Steve Newlin on the news talking about how much he loves being a vampire and how he was wrong all those (human) years ago. I am loving turned-to-vampire (and now gay) Steve but find him confusing. It came out of no where it seems so I’m still adjusting. What exactly is he doing back?
Sookie gets home and can hear Lafayette’s thoughts. And he’s about to stake Tara. He regrets having her turned into what she hates, but Sookie (in a scene that actually shows Anna Paquin does in fact have great acting chops) talks him out of it.
At The Authority, Bill and Eric are being interrogated and it’s not going well. Neither are willing to play along or believe (as told) that the other said something against them so they take the silver needle as best they can. But what is The Authority accusing them of? NOT wanting to co-exist with humans?
The Authority (headed by a council – and yes Spartacus fans that is Peter Mensah) is mad that they killed Nan (although it seems they didn’t love her) but they wonder if there is a conspiracy behind their reasoning for killing her (even though it was really just personal). Because, let’s review – Bill and Eric are human lovers. Eric makes a lot of money in his bar thanks to humans and Bill has always co-existed with humans without much trouble and since becoming King has become a great citizen. Perhaps The Authority needs to do more homework (but wait – Nora believes that humans are only for food! Oh, I
knew she was trouble).
But all is not lost. Roman (formerly Detective Stabler) and the council are none-to-pleased to find out that Eric and Bill didn’t kill of Russell Edginton who has not been set free however, they all now have a common enemy. Bill and Eric agree to use themselves to draw Russell out (who they expect will be seeking revenge) and let the authority kill him. TEAM WORK!
Other Thoughts and Highlights:
•Dancing Steve Newlin is pretty funny as Jessica’s party crasher, and even more so when he triesto buy Jason from her!
•Arlene is seeking answers from Felicity’s ex boyfriend Terry’s old army buddy.
•Hoyt is still mad at Jason, and swearing up a storm. His mom is happy with Jason for breaking Hoyt and Jessica up.
•Wolf puppies in pyjamas are cute!
•Tara can speak and she simply says “I will never forgive either of you”
•What’s the deal with the kid vampire? That’s breaking vampire code or law or something!
•At the end we see Russell’s body slowly recovering (and gross) but I ask – WHO SET HIM FREE?
