Jordan Knight Puts On A Heck Of A Show

jordan knight in ottawa

Last night was the Jordan Knight concert in Ottawa.  If you’ve read this blog at all you know that I have a secret love for boybanders, specifically those of the New Kids on the Block type, so you would know that there was no way that I would miss this concert.  My friends Tracy, Rhonda and Sarah (who were all my partners in crime on the NKOTB cruise) as well as my friend Lila (who clearly doesn’t know what she’s missing because she did not cruise with us) were all very excited to see Jordan in concert, especially since we saw him on the cruise.

First the night started off a bit ridiculous since our limo driver was a half hour late and the concert was in the exact opposite end of town from where we live.  Fortunately he was a good driver because he got us to the venue on time (but a really bad driver for other things that I won’t mention) .  Thanks to the amazing folks at Majic 100 ( who sometimes let me on air:)) we got to do the first meet and greet with Jordan (which is where the above picture was taken) so we were firmly in our JK glory.  The concert was seriously amazing, but there are a few things I learned;

Ottawa Is Boring

Sorry, but this city is so boring.  First of all – where were you all?! There was about 200 people there – all of whom left ridiculously thrilled by the concert (except for the 2 ladies who shushed us – more on that later) but that was it! Why were more of you not there?! I mean, honestly. You missed a really great show.   Let’s get back to the shushing. So we decide to take seats in the back because we like to dance and this was theatre seating so we wanted some room. Also we started out a bit closer but once everyone started holding up their phones and cameras to take pictures we couldn’t see so well so we moved back a few rows.  While Jordan was performing we were dancing and laughing and loving it and talking about how much we were loving it and how hot he was and how that one backup dancer guy freaks us out a bit and that’s when it happened – we were shushed.   SHUSHED AT A CONCERT!!!!  Apparently our talking was distracting the woman in front of us from concentrating on Jordan.  PS we were there first.  Hey Ottawa – you’re not supposed to concentrate at a concert, just enjoy it.

Blockheads Are Hard Core

The die hard fans of New Kids on the Block are called Blockheads (some might say that’s what you would call 4 grown women who go on New Kids cruises, but not me).  Anyway there were two women (twins) there last night that apparently travelled from Memphis Tennessee to Ottawa. Memphis. To Ottawa.   To see a Jordan Knight concert.  And according to people we spoke to last night  they travel to a lot following the band.  Then at the meet and greet after the show when Jordan asked who else was going to the Montreal or Toronto concert there were a few women who raised their hands who were travelling to both. During the concert Jordan asked who in the audience was from out of town and more than half the people responded.  Where do they come from?!  I won’t lie, we contemplated going to Montreal for his Friday show but since we were just in Jamaica last week and it’s Thanksgiving weekend we thought that our husbands might divorce us if we decided to take a road trip (and then we would really have to embrace the Blockhead label and I’m not ready to admit it yet).  It was still a really tough decision.  But seriously, these blockheads are hard core. Memphis!

Jordan Knight Is Super Hot

I’ve met Jordan a few times and interviewed him and he’s always really nice and polite but when he’s on stage OMG he is hot. Like seriously hot.  Like I resort back to being a starstruck teenager and want to put his poster up in my bedroom hot.  OK I already knew he was super hot (see the 4 grown women going on an NKOTB cruise) I just wanted to talk about it more.  Also my husband rarely (ok never) reads my blog so I can rave about him all I want.

The VIP Meet and Greet is Where It’s At

So Jordan does this thing where you can buy a VIP package or even tickets to a dinner or brunch with him.  We missed the dinner/brunch thing (damn kids need their mothers around sometimes) but we did have the VIP package meaning we got to sit in on his  soundcheck and have a meet and greet with him after the show.  I’m actually not sure how we’re ever going to go to a concert without this VIP package ever again because it absolutely made the concert so amazing.  Seriously if you can do this you should because it is totally worth it.  The picture below of Jordan in the white t-shirt is during the after show meet and greet. Honestly so cool.

OK so in a nutshell if you missed Jordan’s show last  night that’s your loss, but if you’re in Ottawa you can probably still get tickets for the Montreal show and it is totally worth the drive.  If you’re in either Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver there’s still time to get tickets on Jordan’s website.

PS – the other dude in the black tie was Jordan’s opening act Jesse Labelle.  Super cute and a pretty good singer too.

Big thanks to Majic 100, the incredibly awesome Eric Alper and Victor. (remember – rose petals!)

I could not agree with you more Ottawa is BORING lol I was tweeting and calling everyone to go to this show I won tickets and bought tickets so in all we had a group of 12 girls. I cannot believe someone actually shushed you!! Yes those MemphisTwins travel ALL over and Joe once said “Yes they are for real”
The Dinner was awesome and I am seriously (almost) contemplating heading to Montreal just for the brunch on Saturday. VIP is fun and a great way to get the most out of the experience.

I am an out of the closet BLOCKHEAD lol I went to Toronto and Boston the last LiveUnfinished Tour :)

Yup Jordan is definitely HOTTTTT so glad you ladies had such a great time.

I So agree with you on the “Ottawa you’re boring” part. I couldn’t believe there weren’t more people there. It was very disappointing to see and I’m afraid that will just tell Jordan that he doesn’t really want to come back here.

I wouldn’t be happy about that cause now I’m hooked. I will need to see him again. If it wasn’t my birthday and thanksgiving and the family wasn’t going through stuff, I would have tried to find someone to go to Montreal with.

DId you take pics of the concert?? Did you see “crazy Julie” in the front row? She’s gone back to 1987 now ;) LOL

It was amazing! LOVED the VIP and the Majic Meet and Greet. So glad I finally got to meet him. I sat in the front row and reverted to my 16 year old self. He is so hot!
