I have a feeling that if you were a parent at the Taylor Swift concert on Tuesday at NYC’s Madison Square Garden your ears might be ringing a bit this morning. I know this because I had the pleasure of taking my 9 year old daughter to the Selena Gomez concert a few weeks back and the sheer noise that comes with 15 thousand tween girls screaming at the top of their lungs is definitely ear-ringing worthy.
The sound from one tween star on stage is loud, but imagine two tween idols on one stage. That’s what happened last night when Selena Gomez joined Taylor Swift onstage during Taylor’s ‘Speak Now’ tour.
After acting like super cute typical bff’s at this weekend’s American Music Awards – singing and dancing to all of the performances -the girls brought their girl power to the stage and sang Gomez’s hit song ‘Who Says’ together. Taylor even introduced Selena as her best friend to the sheer delight of the crowd. Now imagine being in that crowd – imagine the sheer excitement of all those tween and teen girls! That’s like hitting the concert jackpot for those kids. We kept waiting for Justin Bieber to surprise Selena on stage when she was in town for her concert but it didn’t happen. I think we were all a little disappointed.
For the record ‘Who Says’ is my favourite Selena Gomez song. I think I loved it more in concert than my daughter. Check out Taylor and Selena singing together below – it really is super cute.
