I may have watched this trailer a few times already, and while I think it’s pretty clear that this Steven Soderbergh film won’t be winning any awards, it most definitely looks like one of my must see movies of the summer:).
Magic Mike is loosely based on star Channing Tatum’s career as a male stripper before he hit it big in Hollywood and from the looks of the trailer it looks like a whole lot of fun. And half naked men. Win/win really.
And while I haven’t been to a whole lot of male strip joints in my time, I’d like to complain that none of the male strippers I have ever seen looked remotely like Channing Tatum, or Alex Pettyfer or even Matthew McConaughey for that matter.
The movie looks pretty fun, and I like that Channing’s character isn’t trying to hide the fact that he’s a stripper from the girl who plays his obvious love interest. This has summer chick flick written all over it. And then can we talk about how he looks in the beginning of the trailer when he’s in the whole GI Joe/SWAT team get up. I might have watched that particular part a few times. HAWT! Who’s going to see it with me?
