Tom Cruise And Katie Holmes Reach A Divorce Settlement

Well, that was fast! It hasn’t even been two weeks since Katie Holmes blindsided Tom Cruise by filing for divorce and already the case has been settled. In a statement Katie’s attorney, Jonathan Wolfe said;

“The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.

“We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”

Not to be outdone, Cruise’s attorney also released a statement saying;

“All the lawyers and the parties are happy that it’s done, the deal was closed and we wish everyone well.”

In a joint statement Holmes and Cruise responded with;

“We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents,”

So basically it means that;

Katie is the happiest person alive to finally be done with the Cruise crazy – ‘thrilled’ I think is the exact wording used. And now she’s free to be everything he promised her she would be but never delivered on

Tom realized that you can never win when going up against public perception of a woman wronged, especially when you belong to what everyone believes is a cult.  Now move along, nothing left to see here

Both of them love their daughter and put her first and foremost before anything.

And no matter how much she wants to expose Scientology for the crazy that it is,  Katie better keep her mouth shut from here on out.

According to PEOPLE arrangements with respect to custody are being worked out where Suri will live in NYC with Katie but Tom will have ‘generous visitation rights’.  Which, I mean, he is her father after all.  Sounds fair to me.
