It’s that time again! True Blood recap time, and as usual Rebecca is dishing up her take on this week’s episode! Weigh in in the comments section with your thoughts!
Okay Trubies, it’s a short update this week but we have to talk about it right? Let’s get right to the good stuff where we left off from episode 4…
Sookie and Alcide are giving Gran’s couch a workout and start to head upstairs. Don’t you love how he can make out with her and still carry her up the stairs? Did you the catch that he even ducked a little? He knows what he’s doing. So they are in the bedroom and shirts are coming off (yay!) and he states the obvious (yes, we know you’ve been waiting for this Alcide, I think all of us kind of were) and then the unthinkable happens. Drunk Sookie pukes on his feet. Sexy.
Next thing we hear is Eric (with Bill in the door way) “You really know how to treat a lady Alcide”. If the vamps weren’t there, think Alcide would have still wanted to proceed?
So Eric and Bill inform Sookie about Russell and since Alcide’s guy who was working there was glamoured they figure Sookie may be able to help get some information out of him. There was a moment when she realized ‘welp, this is my life I guess!’ and off they went. Boot and Rally!!
Can I just say, this is probably the most non-annoying Sookie has been in a while? Is it the booze or just her own realization that there’s no fighting how messed up her life has become? I mean, she is a telepath and a fairy so surely she didn’t anticipate too much normal. But this lighter side of Sookie is pretty cool. She’s tough and I like it.
Sookie reads Doug’s memories and sees a woman helping to dig up Russell. This woman has a bat necklace and we are all ‘NORA!’ and part of me is thinking that’s a red heron. We shall see.
Following Doug’s memories, they go to a spooky old hospital (where Doug had once carried Russell) in an attempt to find him. I love that True Blood is becoming a bit scary again. I don’t like too scary, but this is when it’s at it’s best. Spooky and sexy and fun works for this show. So they head in as a group and find a bunch of people alive and hanging from the ceiling, waiting to be picked as Russell’s next meal. Ok, now I’m reminded I don’t like horror movies.
They continue on and find Russell, who is looking better than the last time we saw him but still seems weak. Eric is ready to end Russell but he catches them all off guard when something grabs Alcide. No! Not Alcide! This wasn’t his night.
Lots of other things happening, but the biggest one is the shifter murders. Sam, shaken up by the shooting of his shifter friends, goes back to Luna for comfort and to make sure she is ok. She isn’t quite ready to fully let him back in her life, but there definitely seems like there is hope.
Sam leaves the house and 4(?) people in masks in a truck show up and scream “Die Shifter” and start shooting. SAM!! Luna runs out and she gets shot, dead (Sam I think is still alive) and Emma runs away as a wolf pup. Who are the shooters?!!! Will Sam be ok?
Other points:
• Ug. Terry and the fire demon. Do we need another supernatural monster? I think the story itself is haunting and compelling but it seems so out of place from everything else. (Kelli’s note – I hate this storyline. A LOT!)
• That was Jesus’ head with his mouth sewn shut. His HEAD. What is the deal with that? And how crazy is it that his mom seemed to understand the message he wants delivered to Lafayette. And come to think of it, where is his body?! (Kelli again – ew and ew and ew)
• Pam is the best maker ever – for us to watch at least. Tara also looks hawt as a vampire. Her little bonding moment with Jessica was great (new BFFs!) but then she had to go and feed on Hoyt. Jessica is not happy. I hope they can be friends again.
• The Authority is still trying to keep a handle on Nora and others who want to get rid of main streaming and just feed on people. I think a big fight is coming!
So what did you think? Did you love the episode? I thought it was pretty amazing!! Check out the preview for next week below;
