When Bad Fashion Happen To Good People - Emmy Edition

Do you ever get super excited to see what a celeb will be wearing on the red carpet only to be totally disappointed when you finally see them? I had a few of those last night and I hate when that happens. Whether it’s an ill fitting dress, bad hair or just the wrong combination of the two these are some of my favourite women on television that I wished would have chosen something different last night.

Melissa McCarthy – I adore. I mean, one of the funniest women by far on television. And sure, she might be plus sized, but why her stylist insists on putting her in dresses that look like they were once drapes is beyond me. There is so much fabric on this dress – it reminds me of her Oscars gown. I think she could still look fab if maybe this dress didn’t have the big poufy sleeves and was maybe a different colour. I find the hair too old school too – I would loved to have seen her with her hair down.

Connie Britton – Connie is one hot woman. Anyone who’s watched her on Friday Night Lights or American Horror Story knows she’s super hot, so why this hair issue happened is beyond me. I mean that dress is gorgeous but all I can look at is her hair and how much I hate it. And I know it was ridiculously hot on the red carpet but there should have been an assistant with powder following her around. Because she was super shiny.

Lena Dunham – I don’t get it. I mean, Lena was this year’s ‘It’ girl with the huge success of her show ‘Girls’. I love, I mean I love the hair and the makeup – it’s the shapeless dress that I don’t understand. I can hardly even see Lena because there’s so much dress here! Maybe it’s hipster cool and I’m too old to get it but I wished it were either shorter or straighter cut.

Kristen Wiig – I love Kristen so much but I have yet to see her really rock a red carpet. I love the hair darker and her makeup is flawless but the dress is too casual for this event. Maybe if she went really bold with her shoes I would like it more but it’s all a little too pale for me.

Martha Plimpton – I have loved Martha Plimpton since I was a teenager and she was dating River Phoenix. I hated her hair last night. The dress was ok but like Connie Britton I was too distracted by the hair to notice anything else.
