Yellow Is The Colour Of Choice On The Emmys Red Carpet

I loved that the ladies opted to bring colour to the red carpet last night but a little shocked at how one colour can dominate so much. I guess yellow is the hot new colour and more than one stylist knows it! I still loved that we weren’t looking at a sea of black and red though.

Here’s a run down of my fave and not so fave yellow dresses;

Julianne Moore – I loved this dress and I loved her in it. Julianne wore a long sleeved Christian Dior Couture gown that perfectly accented her hair and face. Not hard to tell she’s a bona fide movie star.

Hannah Simone – Hannah is a very underrated cast member of The New Girl but I have a feeling that this dress will definitely make people stand up and take notice. It might be a bit sex kitten-esque but Hannah pulls it off in this one shouldered Emilio Pucci gown. It is the perfect soft shade of yellow and avoids looking ‘Real Housewife’ ish with minimal jewels and by the lack of botox.

Claire Danes – I hate this dress. I’m not sure if it’s the colour or just the colour on Claire but this is not a good look on her. I think it’s that her hair and her dress and her skin all look to be almost the same shade. Not a fan.

Leslie Mann – I love this dress on Leslie Mann! The two-tone Naeem Khan dress looks amazing on her but I am not really feeling the earrings. But a great way to wear the colour without it being overpowering on her.

Julie Bowen – Pretty sure Julie Bowen’s arms could make any dress look good, but this lime greeny/yellow Monique Lhuillier strapless gown was really the best dress Julie could have chosen. Her hair was incredible, her dress was incredible and winning the Emmy was the icing on the cake.
