Zooey Deschanel is Hollywood’s current ‘It’ girl with her new show, The New Girl being a huge hit. I actually really like the show, although sometimes Deschanel’s quirky shtick can get a bit old.
The star is on the cover of the May issue of Marie Claire Magazine and in the interview she reveals that she won’t be having any little Zooey’s running around, and she’s just fine with that;
On not wanting children: “That’s never been my focus…My sister [Emily] was always very motherly, babysitting and stuff. I like kids, and I like being around kids – but it was never an ambition, something, like, I need…I like working. That’s what I like doing. I like to work.”
I have to admit, I admire a woman for knowing that having kids isn’t for her. I think the expectation to have kids is just so normal for woman that it must take a lot of self-awareness to know that it isn’t for you.
